Education
Northern Inland is uniquely able to boast an extensive range of educational facilities. There are over 120 state education facilities within the Region, ranging from mainstream to additional needs schools. All major towns have a choice of preschools, primary (K-6), central (K-10) and secondary schools (7-12). Montesouris educational facilities are also available in several towns. The Catholic School system is strongly represented in over 18 towns within the region, offering a choice for primary, central and secondary education. In addition, Tamworth and Armidale house some of the leading private education schools in Australia.
Post secondary education and training are widely offered throughout the region. The University of New England (UNE) has been established in Armidale since the 1920’s. UNE offers an extensive range of courses via face-to-face and on-line learning. VET training is available through TAFE and ACE (Adult Community Education) located within the region, with campuses in each of the major towns. There are a variety of private training organisations offering a plethera of training opportunities.
Sport and Recreation
The Northern Inland offers an extensive range of activities and sports, which is really only limited by your imagination. The physical diversity of the region allows for all tastes and interests to be catered for.
There is the splendour of the national parks as the region boasts over 30 national parks which are ideal for camping, walking, hiking etc…. Over five major dams are in the region, ideal for all water sports, fishing, camping etc. Each town are fiercely patriotic with their local cricket, rugby league, soccer and rugby union clubs. Not to mention triathlon clubs, sailing, archery, bowls, and the list goes on.
If your interests lie more in the cultural precinct, most towns have a local dramatic society, and the Northern Inland region has produced some first class artists.

Affordable Housing
The Northern Inland is a region where affordable housing is readily available. The 2011 Census reported continued strong average annual growth in median house prices during the last decade (10.4%). Current median prices for houses are $245,000 and for units $185,000. In the median monthly mortgage repayment for houses in Northern Inland was $1,300 per month, compared to $1,993 pm NSW, and $2,167pm for Sydney.
