Gunnedah South Public School is set on nearly four hectares in a beautiful location at the southern end of the town. It provides expansive grounds and includes both infants and primary sections of the school encompassing sporting fields, playgrounds, shaded areas, and vibrant classroom environments.

Our school is devoted to excellence in all academic, sporting, cultural and social endeavours and we aim to give our students the best opportunities available. We value the important role of the wider community in our school and are fortunate to have many active community links within our school.

Gunnedah South is an extremely well-resourced school with a dedicated and committed staff. Many extra-curricular opportunities are offered to support students hobbies and interests including specific interest groups, SUPA club, gardening, band, public speaking, debating, guitar lessons and after-school sports groups: all run voluntarily by teaching staff.

Social and emotional learning is a large focus within our school. We employ peer support and You Can Do It programs as a proactive way to develop the student's self-esteem, confidence, peer relations and mutual respect for others. We strive to help every child achieve their potential and take their place as responsible and productive members of society.
